Greek Style Stuffed Pita

These Greek-style stuffed pitas, inspired by the Middle Eastern dish arayes, bring together the best of both culinary worlds. They’re a celebration of bold flavours and simple ingredients, perfect for a quick lunch or a delightful dinner. Stuffed with a savory mixture of ground lamb or beef, aromatic spices, and nestled in warm pita bread, they’re a treat for the senses and a homage to my Yiayia’s cherished recipes.

Imagine biting into a warm, golden pita filled with seasoned meat that's been kissed by the grill, its aroma mingling with hints of garlic, rosemary, and oregano. These stuffed pitas not only satisfy hunger but evoke memories of time with Yiayia in her kitchen, enjoying meals that are as comforting as they are delicious. Whether grilled outdoors or baked to perfection in the oven, each bite is a reminder of the rich culinary heritage passed down through generations.

For me, cooking is a journey that connects me to my roots and allows me to share the flavours and traditions of my Cypriot heritage. These stuffed pitas are not just a recipe; they’re a story of family gatherings, lively conversations, and the joy of preparing food with love. As I continue to explore and innovate in my kitchen, I invite you to savor these Greek-style stuffed pitas and experience the warmth and richness they bring to any table
